It’s that time of the year where WonderCon comes back to SoCal and after last years punishment of the Los Angeles Convention Center, the show is back to it’s original location at the Anaheim Convention Center.
While the premiere of Preacher on AMC hits next week, I was one of the lucky few that got to see an advance screening of the pilot at WonderCon back in March and to say that it blew the audience away was an understatement.
Before I get to the WonderCon screening of The Giant’s Dream there is a bit of history and personal story that goes with my love of the Iron Giant.
One of the WonderCon panels that I was very excited to go to was the DC Comics new Hanna-Barbera line of comics that starts in May 2016.
With WonderCon coming to Los Angeles this weekend there is a lot to see and do at the show. There will be a ton of panels and surprisingly the Hollywood influence is pretty lean this year and seems to be a bigger focus on comics this time around.
One of the things that I love most about WonderCon in Anaheim is the fantastic artist alley that they have. This is the third year that WonderCon has been in Anaheim and each year it seems that there are more talent that the show draws.
One of the highlights of WonderCon was the great Scott Shaw! Oddball Comics panel. Scott is one of the most talented guys around.
One of the best panels of WonderCon was also one of the first. If you ever get a chance to go to a Sergio (Aragones) and Mark (Evanier) show at a convention, do yourself a favor and make time to go to this panel.
This is the 3rd year that Scott Dunbier has hosted the IDW Artist Editions panel at WonderCon. IDW President Gary Goldstein arrived later in the panel after Scott had announced the current and upcoming slate of titles.
