Yesterday August 28th would have been Jack “The King” Kirby’s 99th and what better way to celebrate that than reading comic books in public. Kirby loved comics and he would have loved Reading Comics in Public Day
Kirby really changed the way comic artwork was done. I could go on about the impact that Kirby had but I will let his artwork do all of the talking.
Yesterday was also Reading Comics in Public Day.
August 28th Reading Comics in Public was created a few years ago to get all of us comic readers to get the word out to the public that comics are such a great medium. So after you go and pick your weekly comic book fix head over to your local coffee spot, park, subway or bus and whip out your books and start reading. If someone ask you about comics then talk to them and explain how great comics still are. Steer them to your local comic shop. Get them to talk to their friends about comics.
So your job today is to get out and work it baby!
