Strange Sports Stories #1 Vertigo Comics Writers Gilbert Hernandez/Amy Chu/Lauren Beukes & Dale Halvorsen/Ivan Brandon, Artists Gilbert Hernandez/Tana Ford/Christopher Mitten/Amei Zhao, Colorists Trish Mulvihill/Giulia Brusco/Eva De La Cruz/Amei Zhao, Letterers Pat Brosseau/Sal Cipriano/Dezi Sienty/ClemRobins Vertigo Comics has revived the 1973-1974 DC Comic book that was an anthology of sports themed stories that always had a strange twist to them.
This weeks newest “outrage” on the internet was the upcoming Batgirl #41 Joker variant cover by artist Rafael Albuquerque of American Vampire fame.
While it was a small release week because of the landing of Marvels new Star Wars comic that had most other publishers releasing a fewer books this week it seems like but there are still some good and not so good.
Welcome to the first comic book reviews for 2015. 2014 had both good and bad comics and so we will see where 2015 lands.
Sorry about not posting on Wednesday. I was a bit under the weather Tuesday night so got some well deserved rest and so everything should be back on track now.
This was one big week for new comics. Lots of new and returning books are making reviews more difficult each week.
Being that it’s the Halloween month of October there are a lot of new horror titles hitting the shelves this month and I love a good horror comic.
Long Beach Comic Con was back in the southland over the weekend and I was able to attend both Saturday and Sunday and this years show was a big improvement over last falls so-so showing.
