As we come to the end of DC’s Convergence and now the Marvel’s Secret Wars flooding of the shelves there are thankfully many other great books from other comic publishers that make up for the event fatigue.
The last week of the month brings the last batch of #1 Convergence titles to the shelves and it’s been more misses than hits for the books.
Over the weekend the Long Beach Comic Con Expo was in town and this was the biggest expo yet. Moving to the huge arena at the Long Beach convention center this marked the continuing expansion of the spring expo event.
Some new comics and returning books hit the review column this week. Rocket Salvage #1 Archaia Writer Yehudi Mercado, Artist Bachan, Colorist Jeremy Lawson, Letterer Deron Bennett Arcgaua continues to do more monthly books instead of the hardcovers that they had mostly done previously and this his month we are treated to Rocket Salvage.
With the success of the Marvel superhero films it’s was no big surprise that Warner Bros. who owns DC comics has decided to hit the overdrive button to play catch up with their own universe of films.
After working at Metropolis Comics on Free Comic Book day last Saturday and thinking about it over the last few day I wondered why none of the publishers tried to get young teen and older female readers into comics.
I really don’t know how the comic publishers think that people can keep up with the flood of comics that has been hitting the stores lately.
It’s the end of a long week and there was a flood of comics that came out this week. So let’s go!
