New Comic Book Reviews Week Of 5/19/21
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to you’re local comic shop this week was a huge flood of new comics to pick up.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back to you’re local comic shop this week was a huge flood of new comics to pick up.
It seems as if both the comic world press and now the mainstream media has picked up on the sales and gloom and doom that supposedly a crisis at DC Comics.
It’s a pretty light week of new book so there are a couple of catch-up books and my local comic shop did not get the Batgirl Annual this week so I will review it next week.
This is the 3rd year that Scott Dunbier has hosted the IDW Artist Editions panel at WonderCon. IDW President Gary Goldstein arrived later in the panel after Scott had announced the current and upcoming slate of titles.
So the last week of 2014 only brings us 4 new comics and so thankfully that made it very easy to review them all.
Every year we all run around like mad people trying to find the perfect gift for that someone special. If that special someone is a proud geek or nerd then sometimes it’s eve harder to find something for them.
With the success of the Marvel superhero films it’s was no big surprise that Warner Bros. who owns DC comics has decided to hit the overdrive button to play catch up with their own universe of films.
There were certainly a lot of fireworks in this weeks new comics. What better way to spend the holiday then reading some independent comics that came out this week.
Thankfully things are getting back on track with the old schedule here at Pop Culture Maven. This week is a mix of new number one issues and some continuing books make a return appearance to the review list.
Over the weekend the Long Beach Comic Con held there Expo that is a more intimate show than the full show that they put on in the fall.
