It’s that time of the year again when classic gamers come out of hibernation to gather at Arcade 2084 to collect and play classic video games.
For ten years now the Southern California Classic Collectors group (SC3) had their annual get together at founders Steve Hertz backyard and was one of the best ones yet.
Over the weekend the Southern California Classic Collectors (SC3) group got together at Arcade 2084 for the first of two big fall 2016 events to finish out the year.
Saturday the Southern California Classic Collectors (SC3) group descended on Steve H’s home and it was one of the best to date.
SC3 is the Southern California Classic Collectors – a video game collector’s group serving the Metropolitan Los Angeles, San Diego and Inland Empire areas.
Last week was the fall get together for the SC3 (Southern California Classic Collectors) group that is dedicated to preserving and sharing classic home and arcade games for members to enjoy and play.
Last Saturday night (4/26) The Last Arcade on the Planet (See my review here) and Southern California Classic Collectors (SC3) joined forces to celebrate classic games for both the home systems and arcade games.
I am always on the lookout for arcades. There are so few around now that going to one is like taking a step back in time to when I visited local Los Angeles and Orange County arcades in the 1980’s and 1990’s before the implosion of the market in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.
UPDATED: (4/30/14) I have been back to The Last Arcade on the Planet twice from when this original story was written and Juan has done a great job of fixing the minor issues that I had with some of the machines and he has added a few new games to the mix.
