It’s the last week of summer and while television shows are reruns and summer blockbusters imploded all over the screens, there were lots of great comics that came out over the summer and the fall promises to continue it’s hot streak.
With SDCC last week the whole comic reviews when to hell and a hand basket so this week I will try to catch up with books for both last week and this week.
There are so many panels going on at San Diego Comic Con that it’s sometimes hard to figure out which ones to go to.
Neil Gaiman’s novel American Gods is being developed as a television series by Starz. They announced that Bryan Fuller who is currently delighting audiences with his NBC cult hit show Hannibal and created critically and fan praised shows like Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies along with Michael Green Who has worked on such fan favorite shows like Smallville, Heroes and Cupid are writing the pilot script and serving as show runners for the series.
Thankfully things are getting back on track with the old schedule here at Pop Culture Maven. This week is a mix of new number one issues and some continuing books make a return appearance to the review list.
DC/Vertigo comics did very well this pilot season for television. They placed all four of their pilots to series. Gotham (FOX), Flash (CW), iZombie (CW), and Constantine (NBC) and add in Arrow (CW) that is going to be in its third season it is good news for comic book fans this fall.
It seems lately that finding time to do most anything is tough with it getting super busy at the old 9 to 5 gig and catching a cold and just shaking that off too.
A super busy week for me with a lot going on in the old 9 to 5 job and being sick has not helped but as they say the show must go on.
It’s the end of a long week and there was a flood of comics that came out this week. So let’s go!
